Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a tactical role-playing game by Larian Studios. Explore Rivellon with custom or origin characters, resolve quests in different ways and combine terrain, elements and abilities in turn-based battles.

Up to four players online

The campaign supports up to four online players. Local multiplayer differs by version: PlayStation lists two players on the same console, while Xbox and Steam include local split-screen options. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition lists local wireless multiplayer for two to four across multiple consoles, not split-screen on a single Switch 2.

New console editions and crossplay

Native PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arrived on December 15, 2025. Steam-to-Switch cross-saves are documented, but that does not establish online crossplay between those platforms.

Yes on several platforms, but the number and arrangement vary. PlayStation supports two on one console; Switch 2 local multiplayer is across multiple devices.

Crossplay between platform families is not confirmed by these sources. Steam–Switch cross-saves are not multiplayer crossplay.
