Ten-player co-op and crossplay
The official English version 1.0 FAQ confirms one to ten players and crossplay between Windows, Linux, macOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. An initially delayed Switch 2 compatibility patch was delivered after launch. Keep game versions synchronized across platforms.
Dedicated servers and progress
Valheim offers dedicated-server tools to keep a world available without a player host. Invite other systems using the server's join code. Cross-platform cloud saves are limited: the developer specifically documents shared saves between Xbox and the Microsoft Store PC edition.
